The Liftoff
Your helicopter lifts off from Stonefly's private helipad, soaring over valleys and mountain ranges into South Marlborough wilderness to hunt a private block accessible only by air.
The Drop
Catch a glimpse of free range deer below before touching down on a mountaintop, surrounded by native bush, peaks and valleys. The peaks and valleys are yours for the day. No other hunters. Just you, your guide, and wilderness.
The Stalk
Hunt the exclusive free-range block, with the option to pursue a trophy within our private hunting preserve — an unforgettable experience and the chance to take a trophy red stag.
The Harvest
Butchery courses can be arranged, with our guides teaching you how to break down the animal and prepare the various cuts.
The Return
When the day's done, your helicopter returns to bring you back to the lodge — just in time for drinks and a 4 course dinner.

Not every great day requires a helicopter. Stonefly Lodge sits between 3 National Parks and our experienced in-house guides will drive you to some of the best local blocks, terrains and private land for an unforgettable stalk and day in the wild. Full-day trips include all equipment, transport, and a gourmet picnic lunch.
